Abu Trica has reportedly been re-arrested by FBI and Interpol officials following an extradition hearing held in court today, where authorities moved to transfer him to the United States and revoke his bail.
He is allegedly under investigation in connection with an $8 million romance scam case. Following the court proceedings, his bail was said to have been revoked, leading to his immediate re-arrest.
Reports indicate that investigators claim they interviewed multiple individuals who allegedly sent funds to an account linked to him, with those individuals confirming the transfers.
However, Abu Trica has disputed the allegations, insisting he does not own or operate any bank account that received the said funds.
Details surrounding the specific charges were not fully outlined in the available court documents at the time of reporting.

Abu Trica’s Lawyer reacts to his extradition to US
One of Abu Trica’s legal representatives, Lawyer Oliver Barker Wormawor, has reacted to the Accra High Court’s decision ordering his client’s extradition to the United States following allegations of wire fraud and an alleged $8 million romance scam targeting elderly American women.
The court ruling, delivered after today’s hearing, also set in motion the businessman’s transfer proceedings, marking a significant development in the case.
Reacting on social media, Oliver Barker Wormawor noted that he was not present in court due to being out of the country for work and only became aware of the expedited proceedings afterward. He suggested that his absence may have influenced the outcome, while maintaining that the legal battle is far from over.
In a tweet, he wrote:
“I am out of Ghana for work. I just heard that the case of Abu Trica has been fast tracked and a judge has just ordered his extradition. Hmmm. FBI 1 – Abu 1. I guess this issue goes to the Supreme Court”
He further indicated that the matter is expected to be appealed to the Supreme Court as the legal team continues to challenge the extradition decision.
