A group of armed robbers storms Adabraka, a usually busy Accra neighbourhood, and performed a daring broad daylight robbery.
According to eyewitness and videos circulating on social media, a group of armed men carried out a well-coordinated heist, seizing cash-filled bags and hijacking a vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The robbery took place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, around mid-morning, as many residents and commuters were going about their daily routines.
Videos captured shows the armed robbers aggressively taking control of the situation, hijacking a car, and brandishing weapons as they stole the cash bags.
In a final act of intimidation, the gunmen fired several shots into the air to deter anyone from attempting to intervene.
Several witnesses reported feeling terrorized by the gunfire, with some individuals seeking shelter in nearby shops and alleys.
The robbers managed to escape the scene and neither authorities or the Ghana Police Service responded quickly due to the nature of the incident
However, the Ghana Police Services have yet to launch an investigation to identify and apprehend individuals involved for the robbery.
The incident has raised widespread concerns about Accra’s safety and security, prompting calls for increased police presence in public spaces.
