Christian Atsu’s wife, Marie-Claire Rupio has paid a touching tribute to her late husband as he was laid to rest in his native Ghana on Friday, March 17.
The former Black Stars winger tragically died in February after being trapped in rubble for over a week after earthquakes in Turkey and Syria
In her tribute, Rupio described Atsu as a “beloved father and husband,” and spoke of her love for him both in life and in death. “It breaks my heart to lose you,” she said, “but you did not go alone. For part of me went with you. Your love is still my guide, and though I cannot see you, you are always so full of life.” – as quoted by Ghanaweb.
