Donald Trump has returned to the White House as the 47th President of the United States after winning the 2024 election over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. The election, held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, declared Trump a victory by earning 70,700,924 votes (51%) compared to Harris’s 64,854,959 votes (47.5%).
Trump, who is currently representing the Republican Party, achieved 277 electoral votes, while Harris garnered 224.
Jill Stein of the Green Party and Independent candidate Robert Kennedy came in third and fourth, receiving 612,829 votes (0.4%) and 591,242 votes (0.4%), respectively.
With this Donald Trump has been re-elected to the presidency for the second time, having previously served in 2016. Trump leaves office after loosing the 2020 presidential election to former Democrat candidate Joe Biden after serving one term.
After declaring the winner of the 2024 presidential election over Kamala Harris, Trump becomes the first president to return to the White House with a historic comback victory after 73 years.
During the election, Trump addressed his jubilant supporters in Florida as key states were still counting votes.
