The Economic Fighters League, a Ghanaian non-partisan political movement, has traveled to Kenya to symbolically invoke the fighting spirit of Kenyans in Ghanaian youth.
The purpose of group’s journey to East Africa was to protest against unfavorable policies enacted by Ghanaian lawmakers ahead of the general elections.
In a recent released video, members of the group are seen collecting soil from Kenya and placing it in a plastic container, calling upon the spirit of Kenyan activism to challenge unjust policies in Ghana.
The video captures their efforts to awaken the “sleeping Ghanaian youth,” who, they argue, are being oppressed by politicians with false promises.

In response to the video, many claim it would not work and have an impact on youths in a bid to counter the leaders because their actions is “superstitious.”
Led by Ernesto Yeboah, the Economic Fighters League comprises individuals from different political, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
Formed in 2021, the group is dedicated to fighting for economic freedom for all Ghanaians.
They see themselves as a continuation of the “Nkrumaist” movement, striving to revive the policies championed by the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The League’s mission is to combat economic exploitation that, in their view, is depriving ordinary Ghanaians of their rights, with the ultimate goal of improving the country’s future.
