He currently serves as the acting minister for the Environment, Science, and Technology Ministries. President John Mahama named him to the position alongside Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson to replace the late Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, who died in an Obuasi helicopter crash. On August 7, 2025, Emmanuel Kofi Baah was named acting Environment Minister, succeeding Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, who died in a helicopter crash in Obuasi, Anshanti region.
