Former Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Daniel Okyem Aboagye has passed away.

This tragic incident occurred on September 23, 2023, after he succumbed to a brief illness.

Mr. Okyem Aboagye was an MP from 2017 to 2021, after defeating Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu in the 2015 New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries.

During his tenure, he served on the Finance Committee of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

However, his political career was derailed when he was defeated in the intensely contested party primaries preceding the 2020 elections by Francis Asenso-Boakye.

Dr. Kokofu, in an unexpected decision, threw his support to the current Minister of Works and Housing.

Mr. Okyem Aboagye was also the CEO of the renowned transportation company 2M Express.

Okyem Aboagye Cause of Death

As of the time of reporting, the true cause of his death is unknown, however he had a short illness. Okyem Aboagye’s family is yet to comment on his death, as well as his funeral and burial  arrangements.
