Leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyapong has sadly announced the death of his mother, Mrs. Comfort Agyepong (née Adjoa Badu).
The former NPP General Secretary’s mom died on Sunday, February 23, 2025, and the reason of death is unknown; however, she may have died from natural causes.
Kwabena Agyapong, who is mourning his mother’s death, turned to Facebook on Sunday, February 23, 2025, to write an emotional tribute.
In the message, he labelled his late mother a “pillar of strength, love, and resilience.”
Agyepong provides information regarding the funeral and burial, adding that it will be given in due course.
“With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Mrs. Comfort Agyepong (née Adjoa Badu), on February 18, 2025. She was a pillar of strength, love, and resilience. She now rests with my father, Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong. Funeral details will be shared in due course. May her soul rest in perfect peace.” – he said.

Kwabena Agyapong, a civil engineer and politician, was born in Kumasi, Ghana. He was best known as the NPP party’s General Secretary, where he served from 2001 until 2006.
He was a significant figure in the campaigns of NPP presidential candidates Albert Adu Boahen in 1992 and John Kuffuor in 1996.
His efforts to ensure Akufo-Addo’s presidential nomination were successful cannot be understated, as he gave his whole support behind the former President.
Kwabena Agyapong is also a presidential candidate in 2024, competing with Bawumia in the NPP primaries.
