Even though Atsu is not a close friend, he began to admire him after knowing about his hard work and kindness through Asamoah Gyan.
“I haven’t been able to do it for Atsu because his death has hit me so hard that I haven’t been able to write a song for him,” Shatta Wale said.
In explaining why he hasn’t released a song in memory of Christian Atsu, the “On God” singer stated that the former Black Stars winger’s death has hit him harder and that he has broken down since hearing of his death.
“I have heard people ask why I haven’t done a song for Christian Atsu as I have done in the past. I know I have done songs to honour some personalities in the past including the late Major Mahama.”
Shatta Wale also chastised the media for now publishing and spreading Atsu’s good deeds after his death but remained silent about his deeds to the society’s less privileged people when he was alive.
“God will punish you media people for waiting for him to die before making Ghanaians known the good deeds that he was doing. All the charity works he did, you couldn’t talk about it but now doing it because he is dead,” Shatta Wale
