The Auditor-General running after a driver by the name, Joe Gyaten, who failed to deliver about three million pieces of male con.doms worth GH¢1.34 million to the Regional Medical Stores in the Eastern Region.
The incident had currently prompted an investigation by the Auditor-General who is mandated to account for any loss or damage to government property.
An Auditor-General’s Report has recently highlighted significant financial irregularities in various sectors, including GH¢2.06 million related to procurement and store management issues like the unaccounted con.traceptives.

Joe Gyaten was entrusted with transporting the cont.raceptives to the RMS on August 22, 2022.
However, to the amazement of many, the entire shipment never reached its destination, and Gyaten has been unable to provide a satisfactory account of the missing items.

The Auditor-General has however directed the Ministry of Health to recover the amount of the GH¢1.34 million from Gyaten as failure to comply may result in personal liability for the Chief Director of the Ghana Health Service and the RMS Head.
