Teephlow has said that he would rather hustle for money and make a living in the United States than chase fame and struggling financially in Ghana.
The Ghanaian hiphop star addressed speculations concerning his musical career after relocating to the United States.
Teephlow, who currently resides in the United States, emphasised his preference for financial stability over stardom in response to his fellow Ghanaian’s accusation that he has faded from the industry.
The rapper shared a message in a self-recorded video explaining why he has been quiet and on break from the industry, stating that it is only for the purpose of obtaining steady finances.
Teephlow emphasised the importance of money above fame in Ghana, highlighting the difficulties of being popular yet broke.
He exhorted his fellow artists not to abandon their long-term pursuit of greener pastures in order to be financially stable, rather than relying on public assistance when in need despite their popularity.
“ I haven’t given up; I would much rather continue working hard and earning money in the United States than go back to Ghana and continue to be impoverished. I don’t want to get old and have others give me money. I’m not going to let it get to me,” Teephlow said.
In other news, Following the release of his new song, famed Ghanaian highlife artist Nana Acheampong allegedly sampled Patapaa’s song.
The song “Y3 Wo Nyame” by Fameye, released on April 19, has a rhythm similar to Patapaa’s Haters with Wendy Shay and Twicy.
Kurl Songx’s song Jennifer Lomotey ft. Sarkodie is one of Patapaa’s song that shares the same rhythm as Nana Acheampong’s.
