Reigning Artiste of the Year at the the Ghana Music Awards, Stonebwoy has replied critics who often tag him as being stingy due to his inability to publicly throw money at fans.
Speaking with Emmanuel Quest on Ark FM in Sunyani, Stonebwoy denied such claims of being stingy and explained why he does not fancy the act.
The reggae dancehall artiste explained he dislikes throwing money at fans because he personally finds it very disrespectful.
According to him, he prefers to personally put money in the hands of his fans and loved ones rather than throwing it at them.
“I have never liked the habit of throwing money on fans. It is a disrespect to do that to people. If I move out and throw money at people, one person might claim all of it.
Others will not get some. I prefer to share it with them personally. It is very disrespectful to throw money at people,” he explained.

Stonebwoy added that the habit of throwing money at fans is a dangerous act which should be stopped as people ends up injuring themselves.
“A lot of people injure themselves, but we do not really hear about it. I have seen people hurt themselves trying to get close to my convoy in town. I have been trying to find an appropriate way but people still call me stingy.”
Stonebwoy’s response to criticism comes days after individuals such as Akwasi Aboagye criticised him of showering money on military soldiers during his visit to Akropong for a show.

Akwasi Aboagye then tells Stone not to follow and allows Shatta Wale to put him under strain with his mind games.
“I admire you and your brand, Stonebwoy, but what you did the last time could lead to something contagious that you will regret one day. Don’t t let Shatta Wale to pressure you as it is not acceptable. What surprises me was when i saw soldiers receiving money from him while in their convoy” — he said on the show.
