John Allister the primary suspect in the killing of Princess Afia Ahenkan, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a previous theft of GH¢167,666.
At the Asokwa Circuit Court, John Allister was found guilty of two counts of theft. His theft involved a mobile phone valued at GH¢4,000 and the GH¢167,666.
The victim of this case, Gloria Morrison, was a businesswoman located in Bantama. In 2022, John Allister had been employed as a receptionist at her establishment but later left. He returned in July 2023.
During his return, he stole her phone while making adjustments as per her request.

Subsequently, John Allister managed to access the phone and withdrew GH¢167,666 from her bank account using a mobile app. Allister John reportedly broke down in tears upon receiving the verdict.
Additionally, the suspect is facing separate charges for allegedly murdering Afia Ahenkan, stealing her car, and selling it for GH¢100,000.

In an incident on Tuesday, the family of Afia Ahenkan attempted to assault the key suspect in the 35-year-old woman’s murder.
The police had to intervene, preventing the enraged family members from attacking 22-year-old Alister John as he was being driven away in a police vehicle.
