President John Mahama has said that YouTuber IShowSpeed gave Ghana massive international exposure, adding that the YouTuber’s visit promoted the country more than any planned campaign could have done.
According to John Mahama, IShowSpeed’s trip to Ghana has increased Ghana’s image around the world, with online searches for Ghana and Shea Butter hitting 20 million.
He explained that, the online search about Ghana and Butter Shea gained recognition from foreigners who were interested in learning about it was one of the most significant impacts IShowSpeed brought to the country during his stay.
“IshowSpeed did more advertisement for us than we could have done ourselves —After he left, I was told there were 20 million online searches for Ghana and Shea butter”- Mahama said
The President made the statement when speaking to the press at a business forum in Zambia on February 5, 2026, following his visit to the country.
His remark comes after IShowspeed’s massage at Hamamat Shea Butter Museum, when the streamer could be seen getting massaged with shea butter all over his body by ten Ghanaian girls.
Following an outstanding display in the museum, the American YouTuber was filmed eating the natural high fat product made from the nut of the African shea tree.
The Shea Butter Museum was believed to be fully booked until March 2026 by those eager to experience what IShowSpeed felt during his trip in Ghana.

During his visit, he also signed ten Memorandums of Understanding, which will allow visa-free travel between Ghana and Zambia for all categories of passport holders.
In explaining the rationale for his Visa Waiver program with Zambia, Mahama stated that “it was an important step towards the free movement of our people on the African continents”.
