Kennedy Agyapong has said that former President John Dramani Mahama is not an alternative to lead Ghana as President again.
Speaking on Good Evening Ghana show on Tuesday, January 31, the flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stated emphatically that if Attah Mills had not died, Mahama would never have had the opportunity to run for president of Ghana.
“Mahama is not the alternative…The man has been fortunate to succeed Atta Mills, he went for four years as president and we saw what happened….What is Mahama going to tell Ghanaians?” Hon. Kennedy questions.
In explaining why Mahama is not a viable candidate to Ghanaians as a president, Kennedy stated that, the former NDC flag bearer failed to manage the economy during four years in office.
“The fear of John Mahama coming to power is that he has not proven himself to be a good leader. Giving him another opportunity…he needs only one term, four years, even when he knew if he managed the economy well, he would have another opportunity he could not do it. Now that he would have one term only God knows what could happen…The alternative is not good for Ghana.”
He further indicated that he is the one to break the 8-year electoral cycle for the NPP. “With me, NPP can break the 8, without me it will be tough,” he said.
