Malik Basintale, CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has said that the agency is providing job opportunities for youths in order to boost employment in Ghana.
In a social media post on March 12, 2025, the former NDC deputy communications officer announced the two apps, Skilled Labor App and YEA Job Center App, stating they would connect employers and employees.
According to Basintale, the initiative aims to streamline job opportunities in both the skilled labor sector and the formal job market.
“We’re creating two apps: one for employers to find employees and another for employees to find employers” — he told host Serwaa Amihere during his interview on GhOneTv
Speaking about the Skilled Labor App, Malik noted that it is primarily developed for artisans (trained skilled labor) such as plumbers, carpenters, tailors, masons, and electricians etc.
He explained the rationale behind the creation of the Apps stating that, it will make it easier for people seeking help to connect with employers.
He emphasises that the Labor Skilled Labour app will also support local and foreign jobs through YEA’s Work Abroad Directorate, which will be available soon.
The politician claims it was built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), ensuring YEA only contributes by providing skilled labor.

Malik Basintale underlined that the association is working to create over 100,000 jobs in the informal sector.
Basintale says that the YEA Job Centre App is an entirely owned platform that connects job seekers and employers.
The NDC representative informed Ghanaians that the App works efficiently and simply, ensuring accessible for all, regardless of IT capabilities.
He stated emphatically that the Skilled Labor App will enable daily job placements nationwide, not only for certain individuals.
The key point Malik made in the article was that both Apps will be free to YEA, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to improving employment prospects in Ghana.
Meanwhile, Basintale’s employment initiatives has not yet been officially launched, therefore it is unclear where to download YEA jobs.
