In breaking news, reports emerging from the Namibian presidency declare the passing of H.E. President Hage Geingob during medical treatment at a Windhoek hospital.
The announcement came from Vice-President Nangolo Mbumba in the early hours of Sunday.
Mr. Geingob, 82, had been courageously battling cancer, a condition he publicly disclosed last month.
Despite the diagnosis, he had plans to seek medical treatment in the United States, intending to return to Namibia on February 2.

Nangolo Mbumba, who assumed the presidency in 2015 under the Swapo party banner, faced the unfortunate circumstance of his final term concluding with the demise of Mr. Geingob.
