The mortal remains of the late Dr. Omane Boamah, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Peter Bafemi Anala and others killed in a Z-9 Helicopter Obuasi crash have arrived in Accra for funeral arrangements.
The bodies of the eight victims were successfully recovered from the crash site and flown back to the city through Ghana Armed Force Casa aircraft. They were subsequently transferred to the 37 Military Hospital for burial, according to a statement from the Ghana Army.
The sad incident which occurred in Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti region claimed the lives of government personnel and has left many Ghanaians in mourning.
During the arrival, a delegation led by the Chief of Staff at the Presidency including former Presidential Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah, senior military leaders and other sympathizers were present at the Air Force Base to pay their respects.
The mood was reflective and deeply emotional, as Ghana mourns the loss of dedicated service members.
The Ghana Armed Forces expressed profound gratitude to the residents of Sikaman and the neighbouring towns for their invaluable assistance and cooperation during the search and recovery effort.
Security officers and local residents worked valiantly to assist in what has become a heartbreaking national catastrophe. Meanwhile, Deputy Minister for Defence Hon.
Brogya Genfi, along with the Military High Command, has expressed condolences to the grieving families and assured them of the state’s support during this difficult time.

Preparations for the ultimate interment are currently underway, but no time or dates have been set, as the nation remains united in honouring the sacrifices made by the departed.
