Tragic loss at KNUST as third-year Forest Resource Technology (FORSTA) student Akosuah Owusuwaa sadly passes away.
According to source, she died on Sunday at the hospital, three days after complaining a brief illness on Wednesday.
The head of the Forest Resource Technology (FORSTA) department issues a statement to confirm Owusuwaa’s death and offered condolences to their beloved daughter, friends and her devastated family.

It was further stated that all KNUST students should dress in complete black as a tribute to Owusuwaa, despite the fact that her family is yet to determine on her funeral and burial arrangements.
Statement from the association reads below:
“It is with heavy heart and a burdened soul that the executive committee of FORTSA would like to announce the sudden demise of our fellow colleague and sister, Akosua Owusuwaa. A third-year student and also the deputy General Secretary who suddenly passed away at the hospital after suffering an illness on 9th March, 2025,
“During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Akosua’s family, friends, and who were close to her. We understand that this news may be distressing to many of you.
“We would like to encourage all students to wear black on Monday in honor of our late sister. Please join us in offering our deepest condolences to Akosua’s family during this incredibly difficult time”
