Samira Bawumia, the wife of the vice president, has been involved in a fatal car accident, ccording to report from asaaseradio.com.
The accident occurred on Saturday as Samira was travelling to Kumasi, Ashanti Region, when her convoy collided with a sprinter bus, killing one person believed to be her bodyguard identified as Fuseini.
Fortunately, the second lady escaped the incident without serious injury. However, the tragedy resulted in the terrible loss of Fuseini from Samira Bawumia’s convoy
A statement by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) released said the accident happened at Ohene-Nkwanta near Nobewam, off the Kumasi-Accra highway.
Eight victims have suffered varying degrees of injuries and are receiving medical attention.

A rescue team, led by STNO II Odjer Jonathan, arrived at the crash scene at 1312 hours to find a collision involving a Toyota Land Cruiser (GC-9094-21), Toyota Land Cruiser (VR-2105-15), Mercedes Benz C180 (NR-1977-18), and a Benz Sprinter (GE-7256-14), the GNFS said.
“Of the 8 victims, 4 had already been rescued by the public and taken to the hospital,” the statement said.
“The Mercedes Benz Sprinter and Benz C180 suffered significant damage to their engine compartments and windshields, while the rear of the Toyota Land Cruiser (GC-9094-21) was partially damaged, along with the Toyota Land Cruiser (VR- 2105-15),” the statement added.

Who Is Samira Bawumia Bodyguard Fuseini?
Fuseini, the Second Lady’s deceased bodyguard. He attended Accra Academy in the 1996 school year. He began working with Samira Bawumia’s family in 2008 and died in an accident on January 13, 2024.
In other news, Kennedy Agyapong has offered friendly advice to both Bawumia and John Mahama about allegations made against Asenso Boakye and the former Chief Justice.
The MP for Assin Central accused Asenso Boakye, the Minister for Works and Housing, and the former Chief Justice of being involved in the confiscation and illegal acquisition of state-owned lands and properties.
Agyapong stated his allegations, alleging that these politicians illegally acquired government land and property, including the late Justice Margo Sau’s mansion.
In his advice to the NPP and NDC leaders, Agyapong urged Bawumia and Mahama, whichever wins the forthcoming 2024 election, to carefully investigate Asenso and Annin Yeboah for their alleged involvement in government land disputes.
During his speech to NPP delegates, the outspoken lawmaker promised to make serious claims against Asenso, accusing him of bribery and corruption.
