Why Killing People’s Dream Because Your Dream Come True - Erigga Questions Wizkid Over His “Rap Is Dead” Comment

Popular Nigerian rapper, Erigga has questioned Grammy-winning singer Wizkid on social media about his rap is dead comment. 

Wizkid earlier stated in an interview with 10 Magazine that he does not listen to rap music because it is dead and dull. 

He also said that Afrobeats is the new pop, claiming that one of his songs has sold two million copies in America.

According to the singer, listening to rap is very tedious because  Artists constantly repeat beats and flows.

In response to the statements, Nigerian rappers such as Blaqbonez, MI Abaga and others expressed their displeasure with the Essence hitmaker’s statement claiming “Rap is dead.”

However, Wizkid, never let down his guard and went even harder on Rappers in his Snapchat story, referring to those criticizing him over the ‘rap is dead’ comment as ‘broke boys.’ 

The multiple award-winning artist also stated in a post that he wasn’t talking about other upcoming rappers since they aren’t even rappers, naming Black Sherif, Sarkodie, and Nasty C as the only artists he regarded to be only rappers in Africa.

Erigga took to Twitter to question why he is attempting to kill other people’s dreams when his own has finally come true.

The rapper wrote: “But why kill peoples dreams because ur dream don finally come true?  take mic. Make we leave cruise !!!  Imagine many rappers when their dreams go die after all this mess finish for this internet!!!! They is God oooooooooooo”

“Some people dey use this rap music money dey feed their family looking back where am coming from I’m thankful to God !!! The dream was never to use my money oppress my brothers !!! GOD no vex I don stop I no go talk again!!! My album the lost boy deluxe drops next week Friday”.
