Newly unveiled Vice Presidential running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, often referred to as NAPO has been called out on social media after saying no president, not even the revered first President of Ghana, Dr Kwame Nkrumah comes to the level of President Akuffo Addo in terms of development.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo’s accomplishments in his two terms of office are unmatched.
The minister of state made these declarations during his outdooring as the vice presidential candidate in Kumasi on Tuesday when he was lauding the President’s development initiatives and transformative leadership.
“Since independence till today, we’ve not had any president that has helped Ghana like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
I say from 1957 to now if you take your Kwame Nkrumah, no one has become president who has protected Ghana and moved it forward like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” NAPO boldly stated.
These statements has not sat well with a chunk of Ghanaians who revere the mere existence of the late first president of Ghana and the developmental projects he churned out which are still of benefit to this date.
With some calling him out for being arrogant and disrespectful, others like Professor Samuel Adu-Gyamfi are suggesting that the public speeches of Matthew Opoku-Prempah be scripted for him.
