Wanderlust Ghana, the team who traveled from Accra-London by road has said that, they reached out to Kantanka Automobiles for partnership, but unfortunately, the Ghana-based auto company turned down their request.
The team, made up of car experts, businessmen, and builders, had wanted to include and promote locally-made products for their historic journey, but they encountered difficulties in getting collaboration from companies such as Kantanka.
Kantanka Automobile is a Ghanaian auto company that designs, manufactures, and assembles luxury automobiles. Dr. Kwadwo Safo, Apostle. Kantanka founded the company in 1994.

Despite this setback, the Wanderlust Ghana team’s brave and courageous adventure into unexplored territory has intrigued and inspired many Ghanaians.
Some people questioned why the automobiles used for the journey did not represent Ghanaian brands, despite the fact that the Ghana flag was prominently displayed on the cars.

The team leader, Kwabena Peprah, detailed their experiences on Facebook, claiming that the CEO of Kantanka declined to contact them for a partnership.
He wrote,
“We flirted with almost every major car dealer in Ghana, and they all literally told us to fork off. Tsigliwigliadzi Kormetorkpor Ometahidior tried to bring in Kantanka so we promote “made” in Ghana, but the CEO wouldn’t even meet with us. We decided to go with whichever vehicles we had at the time, so we selected July 25 2020, as the departure date.
