A Ghanaian illegal small-scale miner aka “Galamseyer” identified as Freedom Boy has allegedly discovered crude oil, a naturally occurring dark-colored material, during activity.

According to him, the black-liquid substance, which he believes to be crude oil, was found while digging a gold mine at their Galamsey site.

He emphasises how, since its inception, fossil oil has been leaking from the concession layer in an unsustainable quantity.

Despite not disclosing the location of the Crude Oil discovery, Freedom asked John Mahama’s support, urging him to swiftly investigate the matter and determine if anything could be done.

Freedom made this revelation in a viral video, which has drawn a heated debate among fans online.

While many people praised him for his generosity, some argue that the black liquid mistaken for crude oil is unlikely to appear in a 3-meter trench.

Others think that it could be contaminated water or drilling mud from mining activity rather than crude oil, as he claimed.
