Media Personality Blessed Godsbrain Smart popularly known as Captain Smart has said that he saved President Akufo Addo’s life in 2006 following his recent arrest
This comes when Captain Smart was arrested by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) in the late hours of Wednesday, October 19, 2022, and granted bail after making a statement about the Galamsey operation in the country.
His arrest came after the outspoken journalist, Captain Smart stated emphatically during his morning show Maakye on Onua Tv/FM that the presidency is involve in the Galamsey operation.
Captain returned on the morning show on Thursday, October 20, 2022, narrating what led to his arrest, stating that he was in a traffic light on Accra Highway when he was confronted by security personnel holding a Russian pistol, asking him to get out of his car and saying that his boss wanted to speak with him.

According to him, his retaliation for what the security said prompted them to match him to NIB headquarters for questioning, and what he said claiming the presidency is involved in Galamsey.
He also stated that if his alleged unpalatable words could lead to his arrest, then the country is not safe to say anything while Akuffo Addo is in power.
“I will continue to assert that the presidency is involved in Galamsey, and I am not afraid to do so until Nana Addo takes a bold step to stop it — Captain said
Captain Smart who is known to be a strong National Patriotic Party (NPP) member, went on to claim that President Nana Akuffo Addo’s life was in danger when he visited his hometown in 2006.
“Ask Nana Addo who saved his life in 2006 when we were on our way to his hometown and were confronted by unknown people.”
“There are many media personalities who are quiet because others have lost their lives as a result of this ruling government, making it difficult for them to speak out, but I, Captain Smart, will continue to speak out.”
