Captain Planet of dysfunctional group 4×4 has shared his views on Ghanaian artists’ Grammy nomination snubs following the announcement of 2024 nominees.
According to him, the Grammy board appeared to not like the style of songs performed by Ghanaian artists.
This comment comes after many Ghanaians expressed concerns about the criteria used by the Grammy board to select artists, particularly African artists.
In the newly introduced category Best Music Performance, Nigerian Afrobeats stars Burna Boy and Davido received three and four nominations, respectively.
Other nominees included Asake, Olamide, Musah Keys, and Ayra Starr to represent their country.
However Captain Planet took to the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, and said, “E be like the kind of songs we dey do for Ghana here dierr the Grammy people no like.”
This comment has caused quite a stir on the internet, with many Ghanaians siding with Captain Planet’s claim.
