Reggae Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has issued a statement in response to the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) claims that he mocked Stonebwoy with his disability.
This comes after the organization issued a strong warning to Shatta Wale to retract his comment for reportedly ridiculing Stonebwoy.
According to a statement issued by Shatta Movement (SM) and signed by its artist’s manager Samuel Flex, Shatta Wale has been misrepresented by the media.
It was also revealed in the statement that, the rationale behind that comment “wasn’t to mock or belittle individuals with disabilities, but rather to emphasize the importance of Stonebwoy acting right and treating others with respect at all times”.

The Shatta Movement group emphasised the sensitivity of the word disabled, but it was not his “intention to cause any harm, and we value and respect the contributions and rights of individuals with disabilities in our society”.
Shatta Wale and his management team pledge to show their continuous commitment to “promoting inclusivity and understanding, and we will strive to be more mindful of our words and actions in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding.
