The University of Ghana has officially denied the authenticity of a circulating letter allegedly issued to verify the academic credentials of Malik Basintale.
According to a public disclaimer signed by Dr. Elizier Taiba Ameyaw-Buronyah, Director of the Public Affairs Directorate, the document in question is a forgery and should be disregarded by the public.
The forged letter, dated May 27, 2025, claims to be authored by the University’s Registrar, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah. It was allegedly addressed to the Secretary of the Civil Service Council with the subject line:
“RE: Request for Verification of Degree – Malik Basintale.”
